This holiday season. What comes to your mind when you hear that? For me, now, I think about Windows Phone 7 Series. (I know, I know...) But then I also think about just how far that is from now. We're coming up on March pretty quickly, and sure, time flies when you're having fun, but still. The holiday season is a hop, skip, and a jump away. And until then, all we've got to look forward in regards to Microsoft's upcoming mobile OS are rumors.

Rumors. And more rumors.

I love a rumor just as much as the next person, so maybe that's not that bad of a thing. But the truth is, a big part of me wishes Microsoft had come out during Mobile World Congress and told everyone that the first 7 Series device would be hitting shelves just around the corner. Not a full city block.

What about you? Is 8 months too long to wait?

When Microsoft unveiled Windows Phone 7 Series officially, I was definitely in agreement with you. 8 months is a long time. But now that I've seen in greater detail what they're planning, especially with the integration of Silverlight into every facet of the device, I realize that 8 months is probably just long enough for them to get the best product out.

Sure, I'll be going crazy waiting to see one of the devices in my hand, but knowing what's coming, well, I can wait.

That is a massive time to wait....Image all the new devices that will be released in that time......I was really considering the Desire....until I saw the HUB....but goodness....I have to hold on to my ancient samsung until the holidays.......

For the record, Android took much longer to get to market, and underwent a few major changes in that time. But the other thing is, you have to give Devs a chance to think of new and Innovative ideas, as well as getting used to the new SDK. So that they can come up with the best and apps for the platform, and sufficient testing time. And a few of us might lucky and get our very own testing device before they are officially released to the public. Similar to what Apple is doing with the Ipad (i know boooooooooooooooooo!)
